Now that you've been accepted to UNC Charlotte, you'll need to activate your NinerNET account to create your password and get your User Name that will log you in to University applications.
Incoming students are assigned a NinerNET account when they are admitted. The NinerNET account provides access to 49er Express, email, and the University network as well as other applications. The NinerNET account remains in effect for as long as the student is enrolled in classes and for a period of one year following graduation. Your University email account is an official method of communication at UNC Charlotte. Check your email by logging in to 49er Express with your NinerNET account and clicking the email icon or get direct access at https://unccmail.uncc.edu. Faculty will use this email address to contact you electronically. Be sure to check your University email often. Your e-mail address = username@uncc.edu Login to 49er Express with your NinerNET account to register for classes. If you have questions about registration visit the Registrar's Office. Find out how to get help if you have problems logging in to 49er Express. Student Computing labs are located in
Barnard and are open 24/7. Be aware of Student Computing lab closings and outages. Other open and departmental labs are also available on campus. If you need technical assistance, visit the Student Computing Help Center in Barnard 109 and talk with one of our Technical Assistants (TAs). The Center for Teaching and Learning provides tools for e-Learning, including Blackboard Vista and Moodle, the online course management systems, and Centra, the virtual classroom environment. Get more information about e-Learning tools, including Blackboard Vista how-tos, tips and help, as well as Centra FAQs. Contact the Student Computing Help Center for technical assistance with e-Learning tools. Check out specific college recommendations first. Student Computing also provides computer guidelines for minimum hardware and software recommendations and information about Internet access on campus. If you are considering purchasing a computer, you may want to visit the UNC Charlotte Dell & Apple online stores. Our web-based online training with SkillPort makes it easy to learn how to use software applications like PowerPoint, Front Page and Dreamweaver. Access over 2,600 software courses, plus books online from an Internet connected computer. You don't have to be a computer whiz to become a Student Computing Technical Assistant.
