There are several issues that could cause 49er Express login problems. First check to determine if you are using a supported browser. Using any browser other than those listed below can result in technical difficulties.
- Internet Explorer 6 SP2
- Internet Explorer 7
- FireFox 2
- FireFox 3
- Safari 3.1
Next, try clearing the cache in your Internet browser.
Internet Explorer 6
Click Tools > Internet Options, then select both Delete Cookies and Delete Files.
Internet Explorer 7
Click Tools > Delete Browsing History, then select Delete Cookies and Delete Files.
Firefox 3
Click Tools > Clear Private Data, then select Cache and click Clear Private Data Now.
If clearing the cache doesn’t solve the problem, you can also try the following:
Add 49er Express to your trusted sites list
- In Internet Explorer click Tools >Internet Options.
- Click the Privacy tab, click Sites.
- Type uncc.edu/49er Express in the box, click Allow.
- Close your browser, reopen it, and try logging into 49er Express again.
Adjust your security settings
- In Internet Explorer click Tools >Internet Options.
- Click the Advanced tab. Scroll to the bottom and ensure that both Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 are checked and that Use TLS 1.0 is unchecked.
You can also check your firewall and set it to allow cookies to be accepted from 49er Express and be sure to allow pop-ups for trusted University sites. It’s important to note that if you click the Log Off icon while viewing email in 49er Express, you’ll be logged out of email and 49er Express.
