Outdoor Warning Siren
UNC Charlotte has installed an outdoor warning siren system to alert students, faculty, staff and visitors of potentially harmful conditions such as tornadoes, high winds, bomb threats, hazardous material leaks and other major emergencies.
The new system, consisting of a siren and public address speakers, will be audible in all areas of the UNC Charlotte campus. It is mounted atop the Dalton Tower of the Atkins Library.
What do I do when I hear the outdoor warning siren?
- Seek shelter inside, away from windows.
- Listen.
Call 704.687.2877, watch Channel 22, closed circuit TV monitors or visit www.uncc.edu.
- Wait for an "all clear" announcement.
