The Student Computing labs offer Windows PCs and Apple iMacs for student use. Microsoft Office is available on all of our lab computers.

The Design + Media Lab in Barnard 105 is equipped with software and hardware that supports digital design needs.

Windows PCs

PCs in the Barnard labs are equipped with the following disc drives:

Apple iMacs

iMac computers are available in Barnard 101, 105 (Design + Media Lab), and 108 and are equipped with DVD R/RW DL. These dual layer DVD burners can store 8.5GB on one DVD R/RW DL disc.

Design + Media Lab

The Design + Media Lab is located in Barnard 105. Windows PCs provide standard lab Windows applications, iMacs provide Mac applications and both provide the Adobe Creative Suite software listed below. PCs in the Design + Media Lab are equipped with 20" monitors and CD-RW/DVD-RW drives.

Flatbed scanners with Omnipage optical scanning software are also available. OCR software is installed on the PCs attached to the scanners, which allows you to scan and edit text from a hard copy document.
